Applications invited for sports awards

SHILLONG: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations has informed that applications are being invited for the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports National Sports Awards 2015 for Dronacharya Award, Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar, Dhyan Chand Award for Lifetime Achievement in Sports and Games and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.
Dronacharya Award will be given to a coach who works full time or part time and who has produced outstanding achievements in coaching over a period of four years immediately preceding the year in which the award is to be given. Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar will be considered for any corporate entity, sports control boards and NGO including sports bodies at State and National level which played a visible role in the area of sports promotion while Dhyan Chand Award will be considered for sportsperson with good performance at international level and who continue to contribute for promotion of sports even after his career is over. The Khel Ratna Award will be given to sportsperson with outstanding performance over a period of immediate preceding four years during which the award is to be given.
