SHILLONG: In view of the Mukul Sangma Government failing to respond to its demand to bring to justice all those involved in the alleged fake encounter at Oragitok, the GNLA has announced shutdown of all government offices in the entire Garo Hills districts on March 26 and 27.
While appealing for cooperation from the people, the outfit informed that  the indefinite bandh in Ampati would however continue as usual barring Saturday and Sunday.
During the bandh, shops and commercial establishment will not be affected and there would also be no restrictions on the movement of people and private vehicles according to a statement issued here on Wednesday. “It has been 21 days since Sengbath Marak’s death and the CM has not responded to our demand. With the issue tabled as our top priority and the basic Garo sentiment crying out for solution we stand solemnly committed to our demands and will intensify demands and execution in these coming days,” the Joint Publicity Secretary of the GNLA, Garo Mandei Ch Marak said.
