6th MLP, Meghalaya Secretariat win

SHILLONG:  6th MLP defeated Sales XI by 5 wickets to qualify for semi finals in the Inter Office cum Corporate Cricket League 2015 organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo.
Sales XI chose to bat and were all out for 73 runs in 17.1 overs. Bappan Dutta top scored with 14 runs off 10 balls, while Gautam Chettri and Kumar Sewa took 2 wickets a piece.
In reply, 6th MLP chased the total comfortably and scored 76 runs or the loss of 5 wickets in 12.4 overs. Gautam Chettri top scored with 29 runs off 30 balls and Kumar Sewa scored 15 runs off 8 balls.
In the second match,Meghalaya Secretariat defeated NEHU XI by 24 runs to qualify for semi finals. Meghalaya Secretariat elected to bat and scored 119 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Mark Laloo top scored with 67 runs off 55 balls. Biswajit Das Gupta claimed 4 wickets for 5 runs in 3 overs and Nandu Das took 2 wickets for 26 runs.
In reply, NEHU XI were all out for 95 runs in 16.5 overs. Kamaljit scored 30 runs off 20 balls and Peter Jarman Lamare scored 24 off 18 balls. Ruby Pathaw took 4 wickets for 6 runs off his 3.5 overs.
Meanwhile, Shilong Traffic Police has qualified to the semi final as topper from group A, while St. Edmund’s College Teachers will wait for the crucial tie of Executive XI Vs Raj Bhavan.
