SHILLONG: North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), the constituent unit of NCERT, set up a ‘Reading Corner’ for classes I and II at the MeECL Secondary School, Umiam on Thursday.
The ‘Reading Corner’ consists of a variety of books, colourful visual materials among others aimed at promoting reading habits in children.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Deputy Secretary MeECL, D Warjri applauded the ‘significant attempt’ made by NERIE-NCERT, in adopting the school for implementing the early literacy programme.
