Charlie Chaplin’s divorce papers revealed that the actor made “revolting, degrading and offensive” sexual demands from his teenage wife Lita Grey .
The American actress described in papers how the iconic English comic actor seduced her while she was underage, got her pregnant and made “degrading” sexual demands, the New York Post reported.
According to the Times of London, an original copy of the 1927 divorce papers filed by Grey has emerged and the 50-page document, discovered in an abandoned bank in LA, included the claims that Chaplin first seduced the actress when she was 15 and he was 35.
After Grey became pregnant at 16 and refused Chaplin’s demand to have an abortion, her mother allegedly threatened to report him to police unless he married her.
‘The Tramp’ forced ‘The Kid’ artist to perform acts that were illegal in California in the 1920s, which he said he had performed with five prominent moving-picture women before their marriage.
The shocking details helped Grey land the world’s then-largest divorce settlement of 825,000 dollars. (ANI)
