New Delhi: The chief of the Delhi unit of the Congress Party, Ajay Maken, on Saturday claimed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wanted a Lokpal that works for him.
“AAP finished its internal Lokpal in these 49 days. Kejriwal doesn’t want a stronger Lokpal, he wants a Lokpal which works according to him,” Maken told ANI here.
“This party was formed in order to get transparency, but they have banned the media in the Delhi Secretariat office,” he added.
Continuing his tirade against the AAP, Maken further alleged that the Kejriwal-led party has done nothing ever since it formed the government in Delhi but is engaged in internal mudslinging.
“The sad part is that the people of Delhi have trusted AAP way too much” he added.
The Aam Aadmi Party, which got a historic mandate in the Delhi assembly polls in February, has not been able to keep away from chaos in its first 49 days in power.
The party last month removed founding members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the National Executive, and prevented Admiral (retired) L. Ramdas from performing his role as the party’s internal Lokpal.
The AAP also removed Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha from the national executive.
The party’s internal rift had widened after Yadav and Bhushan were accused of working for party’s defeat during the assembly polls.
The duo had raised a banner of revolt accusing the party leadership of stifling inner-party democracy and compromising on the principles on which it was formed. (ANI)
