NONGPOH: Registering their strong resentment over the failure of the State Government in taking initiative over the verdict of the Meghalaya High Court delimiting the functions and powers of the Rangbah Shnong, the Dorbar ki Rangbah Shnong, Ri Bhoi District, will protest against the State Government by organizing a black flag public procession in Nongpoh soon.
“The decision to agitate against the state government was taken in the meeting held on March 25 at Umsning by conducting the black flag rally in Nongpoh starting from DTO Office to NSCA mini-stadium Pahamsyiem from 10 am onwards,” Rocky Kylla, Chairman of the Dorbar ki Rangbah Shnong, Ri Bhoi District (DRSRBD) said.
He also informed that the DRSRBD had taken this strong decision to agitate, following the failure of the State Government to constitute the Special Committee and also to put forward the proposal for electing its members as decided in a meeting held in Shillong on March 5.
The DRSRBD had called upon all the local people of the district, NGO’s, representative of the Hima, Raid and especially Rangbah Shnong of different villages to participate in the rally.
