NEHU burglary cases solved

SHILLONG: The city police has arrested the son of a staff of NEHU in connection with the two burglary cases reported from the university campus on April 7.
East Khasi Hills SP, M Kharkrang said that the investigation officer of the case, Sub Inspector, M Nengnong of Mawlai Police Station recovered the stolen items (Contd on P-10)
(Contd from P-3)within 24 hours of the reported thefts besides arresting the accused, Mamang Lenthang (26) whose father is a staff of NEHU and also resides at the university campus.
The recovered articles which included two laptops, gold necklace, five gold earrings,one induction heater and two imitation earrings were stolen from the houses of professors of the university.
During investigation, it was also revealed that the accused was involved in other burglary cases in NEHU and had a history of drug abuse.
