Shillong: Shillong Cricket Association defeated St. Edmund’s Teachers by 18 runs in the final of the 3rd Vice – Chancellor Cricket Tournament 2015 organized by the Department of Sports North Eastern Hills University at SCA Cricket Ground, Polo, on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first SCA scored 116 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Asa Warjri topscored with 39 runs off 32 balls and Khamsaibok Pyrtuh scored 17 runs off 32 balls. Gideon Kharkongor claimed 5 wickets for 22 runs and Navin Chettri took 2 wickets for 15 runs for St. Edmund’s Teachers.
In reply, St. Edmund’s Teachers scored 98 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Allanson Wahlang scored 31 runs off 32 balls and Teddy Kharshandi scored 23 runs off 42 balls. Swarajeet Das took 2 wickets for 6 runs and Asa Warjri took  1 wicket for 15 runs for SCA.
Purojit Mondal won the man of the tournament award while Asa Warjri won the man of the match award.
