12-yr-old brave heart saves toddler from sure death

NONGSTOIN: In an act of true valour belying her tender age, a 12-year-old brave heart rescued a two and a half year old toddler from sure death while risking her own life in the act.
The incident occurred when the baby Sandra Rose Diengngan, daughter of Thomas James K. Bani and Daialin Diengngan, residents of Mawkhlam Nongpyndeng village in West Khasi Hills District accidentally fell into a pond used by the locals for washing clothes at around 1:30 pm on Friday.
Fortunately for the baby, 12-year-old Anjelina Diengngan was on her way to the same pond to wash clothes when she saw the minor struggling and about to be drowned.
Without hesitating for a single moment, the brave heart jumped into the pond and rescued the minor for sure death.
Residents of Mawkhlam Nongpyndeng village informed that they rushed to the spot on hearing of the incident but Anjelina had already saved the baby by then.
The courageous Angelina is a student of Mawkhlam Government LP School and is the daughter of Sistina Diengngan hailing from the remote area of Sdaddkhar under Maweit in West Khasi Hills District.
