Juvenile arrested
On April 10 at around 3.15 am, one juvenile was apprehended while he was attempting to flee away in a stolen auto-carrier (ML-05H-8109) at Jhalupara Parking Lot, Shillong. He was later handed over to Police at Jhalupara OP for necessary action.
Theft
On the night of April 9 night, unknown miscreants stole one Mahindra Bolero vehicle (ML-05F-7556) from Pynthorbah Block-I, Shillong.
On April 7, unknown miscreant(s) broke into the house of Bless Pohlong at Amsarim (WJH) and stole Rs. 60,000 and a gold chain.
Labourer dead
On April 8 at around 7 pm, one labourer viz., Ram Narayan Bhanal (30 yrs) reportedly got accidentally impaled by an iron rod on his head while working in the Bhawan Ispat factory at Byrnihat (RB). He was removed to GNRC, Guwahati and was declared brought dead by the MO on duty. Necessary formalities were observed and cadaver handed over to the relatives.
Assault
On April 7 at around 8.30 pm, one Cheansal Sangma and his friends assaulted Armando Tengsrang Ch Marak and Chesrang R Marak at Matchakolgre, Tura (WGH). The victims sustained injuries and were removed to CH Tura.
NGT ban violation
On April 7, Police detected and seized two coal laden trucks (ML-04B-2803 & ML-04A-1738) driven by Kren Shangpung and Mon Shylla respectively at Khliehriat (EJH) while transporting coal without valid documents in violation of NGT order. Police arrested both the drivers.
