Woman beaten, raped by acquaintance

Faridabad: A married woman was allegedly raped by an acquaintance, police said on Friday.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, a resident of SGM Nagar, the incident took place on Thursday when she was passing through Sector 21 here and was stopped by her acquittance, Dharmendra, son of Gyan Chand, said Investigating Officer ASI Rajbala. The accused, accompanied by his accomplices Dharmendra and Sanjay, thrashed the woman and later he took her to Raja Chowk and raped her, police said. He also threatened her of dire circumstances if she revealed the incident to anyone but gathering courage she later filed a complaint at police station NIT Faridabad, police said.
A case has been filed under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B of IPC. (PTI)
