Kohima: AICC member and Chairman of Political Affairs Committee of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee KV Pusa has said that Naga nationalism does not belong to any group or faction, but to all Naga people.
In a statement on Sunday, Pusa regretted that some people in the name of Naga nationalism have been making mockery of Naga political issue, thereby they are becoming a laughing-stock in the eyes of the world.
He said it is the collective effort to resolve the protracted Naga political issue and not by handful of people who claimed themselves as people’s representatives.
Pusa said as a responsible leader, he had met many Indian policy makers, including the Prime Minister several times and requested them for a solution, which would be honourable and acceptable to all sections of Naga people.
He said Naga’ cannot drag on with the issue and form more groups and factions and become a saddle for the people. He said congress would continue to ask the Centre for an early solution of the long drawn Naga political problem.
On his integrity, he said as long as the issue was resolved he will remain as ‘Naga Indian’.
Pusa was reacting to a statement issued by recently formed National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Reformation) questioning his integrity and nationality. He said if some people wanted to question his integrity and nationality he asked with what passport they had traveled abroad, including Bangkok and Ching Mai in Thailand in the last couple of years.
He said his statement questioning the NSCN (Reformation) on seeking a truce with the union government, neither has scheme nor to hurt anybody’s sentiment.
He said NSCN (Reformation) was formed just recently and seeking a ceasefire from the Centre does not hold any logic. (UNI)
