SHILLONG: Meghalaya’s own voice, Toshanbor  Nongbet has stormed into the semi-final round of Asia’s Got Talent, Season 1.
Nongbet along with sand artist, Nitish Bharti are the only two contestants from India who have made it to  the semis of Asia’s biggest talent search contest. A stint on India’s Got Talent gave Toshan a chance at the pan-Asian edition, which advertises itself as the “largest talent search in the world”. In the first episode, broadcasted on March 12, the 24-year-old sang ‘La donna è mobile’ (Woman is fickle), from Giuseppe Verdi’s famous opera Rigoletto, and earned a standing ovation from the audience and judges.
The performance of Toshan will be telecasted in AXN Asia on April 31. Sadly, the Indian audience will not be able to witness the performance on the same day since VH1 channel have bought the rights to telecast the show only recently.
While talking to reporters on Thursday, Toshan said that it is a great disadvantage since his performance will not be telecasted on the same day.
He however hopes that the people will vote for him on the basis of his performance while expressing his happiness on being able to represent his country.
He said that the voting will open for 4 days after the show is broadcasted on April 31 while requesting the people to visit the official site for the voting details.
