BJP prez highlights Modi’s ‘Act East Policy’

Itanagar: BJP national president Amit Shah on Thursday alleged that Congress-ruled government during its 60 years of regime at the Centre did nothing for the country and the NE region, except presenting a series of scams, involving thousands of crores of rupees.
Addressing the Pradesh Karyakarta Sanmelan held at Nyakum Lapang Ground here, Shah said the Congress government has presented the country scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore in different departments during its regime, but nothing has been done for the country, or for the Northeastern region.
“That is why the aggravated and disgusted people gave their verdict in favour of BJP in the last Lok Sabha Elections,” he said adding that the previous government looted people.
The NDA government ruled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre is going in right direction, that proved on the graph of national inflation rate, which has reduced from its earlier position, Shah who arrived here from Shillong said.
The BJP president is on his maiden visit to this most bordering state, which was a part of his touring to all north-eastern states. Arunachal Pradesh is the most beautiful land in the eight north-eastern states, the BJP president said. Nature immensely blessed the state with natural resources, but the Congress-ruled state governments have failed to tap the resources since inception of the state, Shah said highlighting few policies adopted by the NDA government for the benefit of the people of the state and for this most backward region. The BJP president, who arrived along with Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and party’s National General Secretary and In-charge of NE Ram Madhabji, pointed out that the Prime Minister has adopted Act East Policy, replacing the Look East policy, took on by the previous government. He said Modi has made over Rs 7,000 crore plan provision, including thousands of rupees special plan provision for the development of the state. (UNI)
