Hek lauds RKM Centre for ‘changing lives’

SHILLONG: IT Minister AL Hek on Monday lauded the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre for the splendid service it has rendered to the people over the years.
Speaking during the celebration of the 114th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Shillong and Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre here on Monday, Hek expressed his delight to be a part of the event.
“The centre (RKMVCC) has provided great service to people over the years and changed many lives,” Hek said.
Meanwhile, the afternoon session of the event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister R.C. Laloo, Home Minister, Roshan Warjri and Principal Secretary, Department of Water & Soil Conservation, RM Mishra.
Revered Swami Atmarupanandaji Maharaj and Swami Achyuteshanandaji Maharaj followed by Laloo, Warjri and Mishra delivered motivational speeches to the students and others present in the gathering.
On the occasion, one of the faculty members of the centre, Tyrchain Phawa was awarded the certificate of Microsoft Office Specialist Expert.
It may be mentioned that the commemoration of the 114th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Shillong started with a cleaning drive on April 25.
