Jammu: A three-year-old missing girl, who was found roaming lonely at the station here, was on Saturday reunited with her family in Punjab, railway police said.
“On April 30, our men found a three-year-old girl roaming lonely at the Jammu railway station. The child was handed over to the child line authorities who took good care of her,”SP Railway Jammu Suram Singh said.
As the child was not in a condition to give any details about her family, the railway police started efforts to trace her family. “Efforts were made to trace the whereabouts of parents of the girl through print media, social media, whatsApp, telephonic communications and other sources,” Singh said. The photograph of the child along with details was sent to Patiala and Ambala through Whatsapp.
“Because of this police station City Barnala established contact with the SHO GRP Jammu and informed that one missing report of the child stands lodged in their police station” Singh said. A special team of Barnala City Police reached police station GRP Jammu and finally the child was reunited. (PTI)
