Road connection disrupted in Arunachal

Itanagar: Communication to a few circle headquarters in remote Kurung Kumey district in Arunachal Pradesh has been affected following a massive landslide triggered by incessant rains in the last few days.
The landslides blocked the Border Road Task Force (BRTF) road leading to Sarli, Upper Koloriang and Damin circles in the district, an official communiqué said here on Wednesday.
The landslide had occurred at Papi Nallah in between Malapu (New Koloriang) and the district headquarters Monday night causing total disruption in vehicular movement.
However, there was no report of any casualty but a vehicle was reportedly damaged in the incident.
ADC Deepak Shinde along with other officials of the district visited the spot and is monitoring the road restoration work undertaken by the BRTF.
The ADC has directed the officials of BRTF for early restoration of the road by deploying more men power and machinery. (PTI)

Though the press statement did not make any pointed reference, it would not be an exaggeration to say this decision has been prompted, to a large extent, by the killing of eight Assam Rifles soldiers by NSCN-K members in neighboring Mon on Sunday last.
