NDFB(S) militant killed in Assam

GUWAHATI: Security forces shot dead an unidentified militant of National Democratic Front of Bodoland  (Songbijit faction) during the last 24 hours. Army busted a hideout of NDFB(S) in thick jungles of Chirang Reserve Forest in Kokrajhar district this morning. Acting on specific intelligence, the Army with Assam Police & SSB launched a search operation in jungle area, West of Leupani Nala in Chirang Reserve Forest, approximately three km from village Ultapani in Kokrajhar district. During the search operation an encounter took place with NDFB(S) terrorists in which one NDFB(S) terrorist was killed.
It is suspected that some top leaders of NDFB(S) who were responsible for Adivasis massacre on December 23 last year were in the group with whom contact was established.One factory made 7.65mm pistol, one country made rifle, 200 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 14 grenades, 150 Kg of ration, large number of blankets and other war like stores were recovered from the hideout area.Army and Assam Police also apprehended a senior NDFB(S) militant, Bisonjit Mushaharu alias Tarzan from a roadside restaurant at Chhaygaon last night while he was travelling from Guwahati to Goalpara.
Security forces recovered 10 rounds AK-47 ammunition, one round of 7.65 ammunition and a pistol magazine, detonators, fuse wires, one mobile phone with SIM card and a personal diary from the possession of the militant.
