Programme on quake alertness in N’land

Kohima:  The National Disaster Responsive Force (NDRF) from 01 Battalion from Guwahati, in collaboration with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) Home Department and District Administration organised a two-day Community Awareness Programme on Earthquake at Town Hall of Peren town, which concluded on Wednesday.
Official sources said Inspector Rajesh Ranjan gave a power point presentation on the role, responsibility, capabilities, strength of NDRF, demonstration on life saving medical aid, mock drill, dos and donts during disaster and aftermath, and exhibition of tools needed during a tremor.
The programme was attended by District Administration, Police Department, NGOs, Red Cross, Civil Societies and Students from Peren Government College and Schools from Peren town.
A team of twelve personnel led by Inspector Rajesh Ranjan and Sub-Inspector Kipgen from The National Disaster Responsive Force (NDRF)  or the NDRF, Deputy Project Officer of NSDMA David and District Administration will be conducting one week awareness programme in Peren, Tening and Jalukie Town under Peren district, sources said.
