Anti-Terrorism Day

Anti-Terrorism Day will be observed on May 21 with a pledge taking ceremony to be held in front of the Main Secretariat, Shillong at 10:30 am.

National workshop

The Department of English, Shillong College, in collaboration with the North East Writers’ Forum is organizing a two-day national workshop on Creative Writing in English on May 21 and 22 on the college premises.

Interaction

FICCI and BCPL, along with support from the Government of Meghalaya, are jointly organising an interaction with a high-level government delegation which is visiting the city for promoting the development of plastic processing industry. The delegation is led by Surjit K. Chaudhary, Secretary, Chemical & Petrochemical, Government of India.

Business meeting

The Frontier Chamber of Commerce held a meeting with German Consul General Rainer Schmiedchen recently and discussed issues pertaining to improvement of trade with Germany. A decision was taken to provide vocational training on different subjects in Meghalaya.

Musical programme

The Mawjam Society, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, will stage a two-day music extravaganza ‘The Road Ahead’ at U Soso Tham Auditorium on May 23 and 24.
