Voices in Kisama the new official music video of Abiogenesis, a folk-fusion rock band based in Nagaland, was premiered on VH1 India on May 22 followed by telecast in MTV Indies, 9XO and Songdew.
It will also feature internationally in BBTV, USA, a TV show series which has exclusive national airtime to over 15 million viewers in the USA on 9 major cable companies with broadcast times in Nashville, Manhattan, Brooklyn, San Francisco, New Jersey, Down the Jersey Shore, Nevada, California, New Mexico and many other cities and towns across the US and in Go Indie TV Roku Channel in the UK, Canada and the USA.
The music video, Voices in Kisama is an instrumental piece from their album “Legacy of the Mountains” which was nominated in the Global Indian Music Awards 2014.
The two new Naga bamboo musical instruments Bamhum and Tikzik are played in the video. Most of the footages have been shot live in Kisama during Hornbill Festival, 2014.
Through this song, Abiogenesis intends to promote not only Naga Howey Music but also tell and show to the world about the colorful Hornbill Festival held at Kisama annually.
Howey is a fusion of folk and modern music.
Directors Puja and Pritish Chakravorty; Director of Photography Betoka Swu; Production Controller Pinoa and Video Editor Jhulan Krishna Mahanta are the production team. The year 2015 also happens to be the 10th anniversary year of Bamhum and Naga Howey Music.
It may be mentioned that Bamhum was unveiled by the then Governor of Meghalaya, MM Jacob at the International Bamboo Festival in 2005 at Shillong. As part of the anniversary, preparation is on for a 100 piece Bamhum Ensemble performance later this year in a major function.
