Assam gets new Chief Secretary

Guwahati: Vinod Kumar Pipersenia on Sunday took over the charge of the chief secretary to the Assam government following retirement of the incumbent Jitesh Khoshla.
Pipersenia, an IAS of 1980 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, is the 45th chief secretary of the state, an official statement said today. Before taking over the charge of the CS, he was working as the Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture, Irrigation and PWD Department.
During his tenure in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of the state, Assam State Disaster Management Authority took shape and majority of the districts underwent transition from manual to computerised processes. (PTI)
