ADM seeks apology from HC

SHILLONG: Additional District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills, K.L. Nongbri apologized before the High Court of Meghalaya for granting interim pre-arrest bail to a murder accused.
The matter relates to one Helpful Patwet, employed as Gram Sevak at Saipung C&RD Block, East Jaintia Hills.
The accused was allegedly involved in the killing of one Elizar Tariang, son of the Dolloi Nongkhlieh Elaka at Shnongrim in East Jaintia Hills on July 15.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Khliehriat, has filed an affidavit sworn on September 9 which read “grant of 3 days interim pre-arrest bail to the accused person in a heinous offence was an error committed by me. I, therefore, tender my unconditional apology before this Court”.
Following the unconditional apology, the Court disposed of the matter.
