Forgery
Dr. R.K. Sangma, M&HO, Mendipathar PHC lodged a complaint that one Sinrik Sangma forged his signature and also fraudulently obtained the seals and birth & death certificates in the name of Mendipathar PHC (NGH).
Body recovered
On Sept 12 at about 5 am, one unidentified male dead body (35/40 yrs) was recovered from Mawdiangum, NH-40 (RB). It is suspected that the deceased was run over by unknown vehicle. Necessary formalities were observed and investigation is on.
Suicide
On Sept 12, Hiwell Mukhim (60/65 yrs) committed suicide by hanging at Umiam (RB). Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.
Accident
On Sept 10 at about 11.30 pm, one Scorpio vehicle (ML-05H-4383) driven by Manik Khari (30) dashed against a hillock at Mawiong Rim, Shillong. As a result, one occupant of the vehicle Bankupar Lyngdoh Mawphlang died on the spot, while the driver sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.
Theft
B. Blahwar, Asst. Registrar (Esstt) NIT, Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah lodged a complaint that on Sept 4 and 8, unknown miscreants stole two LCD projectors from Class Room No. I & VI, respectively.
Arrest
On Sept 11, Police arrested five persons, viz., Modu Thapa, Mohan Magar, Navin Rai, Amul Dhar and Sagar Tamang, while they were extracting coal in violation of NGT order at Umpleng (EJH).
On Sept 11, Police arrested two persons, viz., (1) Md. Riha Uddin and (2) Md. Samin Ahmed while they were extracting coal in violation of NGT order at Moopala (EJH).
On Sept 11 at about 5.15 pm, one Vicky Thapa was apprehended while he was attempting to steal building construction materials from St. Edmund’s College, Shillong. Police arrested the accused. Matter is under enquiry.
Fraud
John D. Sangma, Secretary cum Principal, Selsella Higher Secondary School lodged a complaint on Sept 10 that one John Pajeelard K. Marak, Vice Principal, Selsella Higher Secondary School, submitted fake and tampered MA Mark Sheet.
R.M. Shaw lodged a complaint that on Sept 2, one Gilbert Syiemlieh (25) took money amounting to Rs. 11,000 from four persons with a promise to allot dwelling house at Govt. Housing Complex for BPL families at Lower Mawprem, Shillong.
Rape
A complaint was lodged by a man that on Sept 9 around 10 pm, two persons, Linus Khaii and Tomlang Lamo, raped his 21-year-old daughter at Iapmala village (EJH).
Truck missing
Nitin Jain lodged a complaint that on Sept 7, one truck (AS-11AC-3293) left M/s Meghalaya Cement factory (EJH) for Aizawl, Mizoram with 20 MT of cement. However, till date the truck has not reached its destination.
Threat
The Secretary, Executive Committee, JHADC lodged a complaint that on Aug. 14 and 29, 2015, headman of Saitsama village along with others obstructed and threatened the labourers and driver who were engaged in cutting and lifting the auctioned trees at Mynkoiram, Saitsama village (WJH).
