Agartala: Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Irani will visit Tripura on September 18 and address a meeting of the education secretaries of the North Eastern states, an official said on Tuesday to disscuss the issues related to education in NE.
She would be arriving here on September 17 and address the meeting of North Eastern states’ education secretaries next day and would leave for Delhi on September 19, the state government official said.
The meeting would discuss the country’s new education policy and its implementation in the region, the official added.
A questionnaire was distributed among the states for consultation from the Panchayat level to the state level in a phased manner where different stakeholders had participated and based on which the final proposal regarding policy will be presented to the ministry from the state,” State Education Minister, Tapan Chakraborty said.
