SHILLONG: ‘Sentinels of the North East,’ 21 Provost & Security Unit (Air Force Police) celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Friday.
Air Marshal C Hari Kumar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
During the Golden Jubilee Celebration, the AOC-in-C EAC impressed upon the role of the Provost and Security Unit in providing the Air Force with formidable security and assistance in its functioning as an aid to civil authorities. Wing Commander Vijay Menon, Commanding Officer, SU, narrated the history of the unit and elaborated on how the ethos of Air Force has been preserved by the unit.
Air Marshal JS Kler, Air Vice Marshal HS Arora, Air Vice Marshal Manavendra Singh, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, PS Dhakar among others were present on the occasion.
