SHILLONG:  After moving out of the Opposition coalition MPF citing lack of co-ordination from NPP, Independent  legislators  Saleng Sangma and John Leslee  Sangma have decided to  support at least  ten candidates  mostly Independents contesting the October  12 GHADC polls.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Saleng said that he along with John Leslee and others are putting up candidates  in Tura, Salmanpara, Jengjal, Rongjeng, Resubelpara, Amongpara, Babelapara and other constituencies for the GHADC polls .
The Independent legislators have made it clear that though they had supported NPP leader PA  Sangma in the Lok Sabha polls, they would not support NPP in the GHADC  polls as the party  NPP did not respect the coalition spirit .
“Besides Independents, we may support either UDP or even NCP, but never NPP”, Saleng added.
Earlier, Saleng had criticized NPP for disregarding MPF and suddenly announcing the names of the party candidates for GHADC polls.
Salneg said that he had wished that there would  have been some understanding among the coalition partners in the Opposition during the GHADC polls.
