More seizure of cattle in state border

SHILLONG: The BSF troops seized 53 more cattle worth Rs 8 lakh at Nayabazar, Rongtilla, West Jaintia Hills district while being smuggled to Bangladesh from India on Wednesday night. However, the smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness and bad weather.
The BSF in Meghalaya frontier has seized more than 1,112 cattle this year while being smuggled to Bangladesh at international border.
Besides, the BSF troops have also seized around 151.23 cft wooden logs, while being smuggled out to Bangladesh via Meghalaya border on Wednesday night.
The BSF troops have been effectively dominating border and foiling the attempts of smugglers to exploit the unfenced border area for smuggling.
