B-Town wishes Lata Mangeshkar on 86th b’day

As melody queen Lata     Mangeshkar cele  brates her 86th birthday on Monday, Bollywood celebrities wished her best of health and happiness. Sonu Nigam, who collaborated with Mangeshkar in films like “Veera Zaara”, “Mujhse Dosti Karoge!” among others, called her the goddess of vocalists.
“Happy Birthday to the goddess of vocalists… Your contribution in every Indian music lovers’ life is unmatchable. Thank you for your love,” he posted on Twitter. Shaan wrote, “Happy Birthday Lata ji! Happy Birthday to Voice of Eternal Youth and Divinity!! Our Greatest Pride!!@latamangeshkar.” Terming her “motherboard of Indian music industry, actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana said, “Birthday wishes to the motherboard of Indian music industry @mangeshkarlata di! Charan Sparsh.”
“Besides thousands of impeccable renditions, she inspired lacs of families to support their daughters to take up music,” tweeted filmmaker Anubhav Sinha. Music composer Vishal Dadlani said, “@mangeshkarlata ji, Happy Birthday! Wish you every joy, the best of health and happiness!” Kailash Kher, who is in the US, said Mangeshkar is the true avatar of goddess Saraswati.
“I am in US. Today is the birthday of India’s melody queen, and goddess Saraswati’s avtaar (incarnation) congratulations to the universe.” National award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta said, “Happy Birthday to India’s most beautiful woman. Happy Birthday Lata Mangeshkar.
Thanks to your songs life is less empty.” Mangeshkar, who started her career in 1942.
She has recorded songs for more than 1,000 films in 36 languages and also awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.
The singer is known for her hit numbers “Dil wil pyar wyar”, “Bindiya chamkegi”, “Tune o rangeele kaisa jaadu kiya”, “Mere haathon mein”. Her last film song was in 2010 movie “Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun”. (PTI)
