AGASA against participation of non-tribals in GHADC polls

SHILLONG: All Guwahati A’chik Students’ Association (AGASA) has extended its support to the movement against the participation of non tribals in the upcoming Garo Hills District Council (GHDC) election
AGASA president and general secretary said that the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution has been designed to preserve the traditional autonomy and local self-governing institutes of the tribal people of North East.
According to organization, their support is not to bring any harm to any community living in Garo Hills but in the interest of the Garos while preserving and protecting their culture and tradition without any interference from outsiders or insiders who are not A’chik by blood.
