‘NE a big market for India Post’

SHILLONG: Northeast has emerged as one of the biggest markets for India Post which has achieved an impressive growth in delivery of goods in the country and the region.
This was informed by Chief Post Master General,   NE-Circle- I, S C Barmma here on Wednesday during the launch of the online insurance solution of PLI and Rural Postal Life Insurance.
He further informed that India Post would soon open warehouses in some of the head post offices in NE-I Circle to deal with the huge consignment of parcels.
Meanwhile, Barmma said that work to have internet banking solutions in the head post office in Shillong has begun and now customers would be able to file their insurance claims and open and operate accounts through net banking.
