Rangdajied snatch 1-0 victory over Royals

Shillong: Rangdajied United snatched a tense 1-0 success against Royal Wahingdoh in a Shillong Premier League match at the J N Stadium on Wednesday after a decisive second half goal by Joel Sunday. The forward appeared threatening especially in the latter half, building a number of chances before taking advantage of an error in the 53rd minute to score the match winning goal.
Eariler, Royal Wahingdoh did well in the second half with their midfield upping the pressure but they were unable to break the stiff Rangdajied defence. Wahingdoh’s winger Nagen Tamang nearly helped his side break even the scores with a powerful shot that was brilliantly saved by keeper Shambhu.
Rangdajied’s defence, controlled by skipper Ambilstar Sunn proved tough to crack as they kept the Wahingdoh attack at bay before registering a tight 1-0 finish.
Nongrim Hills beat Ryntih by a comprehensive 3-1 margin after Brasfull Iawphniaw’s brace in a Second Division match. Bansharai Marbaniang provided Ryntih an early 17th minute lead before Brasfull struck twice for Nongrim, his first coming in the 41st minute and second in the 83rd minute. P. Ngachonhor gave Nongrim Hills their second goal in the 56th minute.
Young XI routed Lawsohtun 2-0 in a Third Division game with Kyrshan Lyngdoh (17) and Banteilang Marwein (43) scoring while Nongsohphoh thrashed Lawmei 3-0.
