Consultation camp on congenital heart disorders

SHILLONG: On the first day of Awareness, Screening and Consultation Camp on Congenital Heart Disorders (heart diseases from birth) organised by Lions Club, Shillong about 25 patients from different districts of Meghalaya came to have a direct consultation with renowned Paediatric Heart Surgeons of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, Dr K S Iyer and Dr Sushil Azad.
Dr K S Iyer selected Shillong as the place to inform and make people aware that multiple congenital heart disorders can be taken care of and a patient can grow normally if diagnosed, and treated well in time.
The second day of the program will start on Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm at Hope Clinic near Pine Mount School.
The long queue of patients indicates that in Meghalaya, cases of congenital heart disorder are on the rise. All India Radio, North Eastern service will present the live broadcast of “Meet Your Doctor” from 8:35 till 9:30 am from FM Station 100.1 MHZ.
