Itanagar: Along with the rest of India, North Eastern states also observe the 146th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Father of the Nation’ and taking a trip down memory lane on his principle which left a deep mark in Indian history influencing people all over the world with his ideas and ideologies.
In Arunachal Chief Minister, Nabam Tuki, Education Minister Tapang Taloh and RWD Parliamentary Secretary Jambey Tashi paid tributes to the great personality at Gandhi Park. The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) also observed the day by paying floral tributes at the portrait of Gandhi at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan.
Mass prayers were also organised in different parts of the state. Mizoram Governor, CM, cabinet members also paid their tribute by offering wreaths before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
In Assam Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, BJP Sarbananda Sonowal gave a talk on cleanliness in a pogramme, encouraging the people and youth of the state and to be keep their city clean and adapt habits to keep their surrounding clean.
To mark the occasion, a cleanliness drive was also initiated in various states. Volunteers and students came up to clean their respective localities and villages.In various parts of the region peace rally were organized to mark his principle of non-violence and bring in peace and harmony for the country which ahve long deviated from these ideologies and corruptiona nd violence has taken over his principles which touched the life of people all over the world but now people have turned a blind eye towards them.
