NONGSTOIN: The Nongstoin Area Development Committee (NADC) on Friday clarified that the Nongstoin Urban Water Supply Scheme (NUWSS), worth Rs. 133.94 cr has not been scrapped and has the first phase of the scheme has begun with an amount of Rs. 30 crores.
Chairman of NADC, N. Nongdkhar, with regard to the delay in implementing the scheme, the committee has issued a pleaders’ notice to the chief engineer (PHE) and the contractor who has undertaken the construction under this scheme.
The chief engineer, PHE has also clarified that he has found ways to obtain the sanctioned amount through SCA scheme.
Tantia Construction Limited recently has moved forward to take step for the said construction. Nongdkhar told that the Committee will continue to follow up on the matter until the construction is done, within the given amount. The foundation stone of the scheme was laid on December of 2011 during the tenure of the then PHED Minister, Shitlang Pale.
