SHILLONG: At least four owners of buildings which were listed by the High Court of Meghalaya for dismantling of additional floors, received respite from the Supreme Court till  October 12 after they sought the intervention of the apex court on Monday in the form of a Special Leave petition.
The top court will conduct the next hearing on the petition filed by Sanjay Jhunjhunwalla (Bivar Road) and others.
The Division Bench of the High Court of Meghalaya comprising Chief Justice Uma Nath Singh and Justice T.N.K. Singh in its order on September 28 had set a 15-day deadline for the demolition of additional floors (above G+3) of at least 20 buildings.
As the order was issued on September 28, the deadline for the completion of demolition would have ended on October 12 which is the date the Supreme Court has fixed for taking up the case again.
