Accident
On October 5, at around 8 am, one vehicle (ML-05G-0935) driven by Batstar Jaba (25 yrs) knocked down Md. Rijiz (59 yrs) at MES Point, Rilbong, Shillong. The victim sustained injury and was admitted at Civil Hospital Shillong.
On October 4, at around 5 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05D-5203) ridden by Pyndaplang Teron (32 yrs) dashed against a roadside pillar at Umroi Nongrah (RB). As a result, the rider died on the spot. Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.
Theft
Unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle belonging to Block Resource Management Committee (BRMC), Saipung (EJH) from the residence of Khmihlynti Manner, president of BRMC at Pala village in East Jaintia Hills, on September 29.
Pritam Majumdar lodged a complaint that on September 5, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero pick-up (TR-01Z-1675) from 10th Mile, Baridua (RB).
Arrest
Rahul Mehariwala lodged a complaint that on October 4, at around 7.50 am, one Md. Mohsin Khan (23 yrs) was apprehended while attempting to steal his vehicle (ML-05L-9271) from Lower Motinagar, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.
On October 1, at around 4 am, two persons Md. Munna Ali and Balarani Jarat were apprehended while stealing twenty pairs of Jelly Filled (JF) cables valued around Rs. 22,500 from Bishnupur, Shillong. Police arrested the duo.
Body recovered
On October 3, at around 11.15 pm, body of Pangoumang Khongsai (32 yrs) was recovered from a jungle near Nongthymmai, Nongshiliang, Shillong. Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.
Assault
Babul Das lodged a complaint that on October 2, at around 8.30 pm, one unidentified guard of MeECL, Lumjingshai, Shillong, assaulted him and his son Joy Das at Lawmali junction, Shillong. The victims sustained injuries.
Ratul Barman and two others lodged a complaint that on September 25, at around 9.30 am, CEO of Tura Municipal Board destroyed their goods and assaulted them during a cleaning drive at Tura Super market (WGH).
Missing
Hendilla K. Marak lodged a complaint that on September 16, at around 9 am, her daughter Tengkamchi Marak left her residence at Resu Chibagok (NGH) for school in civvies and did not return home since then.
Fraud
W.J Sympli lodged a complaint that on May 31, his Facebook friend named L. Imchen borrowed Rs. 1,85,600 from him for medical treatment, but did not return the money till date.
Provocation
Roni B. Marak lodged a complaint that Simella N. Sangma and her daughter Ratsen N. Sangma, instigated members of their Mahari to murder her husband Plansing A. Sangma at Salwaka Gitok village (WGH) on September 29, 2015.
