Another chance for elementary teachers

SHILLONG: The State Education Department has notified that another chance will be given to the elementary school teachers, who have not secured 45 per cent marks in aggregate, to appear in the HSSLC examinations to be held in 2016.
The department further informed that the teachers who had appeared in the HSSLC examination in 2015 but failed to secure the required percentage can re-appear in the examination.
It added that candidates who have appeared for Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) but could not pursue higher studies can also appear in the HSSLC examination, 2016 to meet the minimum requirement specified by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
It may be mentioned that as per the notification issued by the NCTE, all elementary school teachers should fulfill the minimum qualification of securing 45 per cent marks in the Pre-University or its equivalent examinations.
Meanwhile, the department also notified that teachers who did not attain the specified NCTE norms and had not appeared in the HSSLC examination, 2015 can also appear in the forthcoming examination after acquiring the necessary NOC from the concerned SDSEO/DSEO.
The application forms for the examination will be available at the Districts/ Sub-Divisions from October 28.
