Students lodge complaint against harassment

NONGSTOIN: 13 students from St. Peters’ Higher Secondary School, Pyndengrei, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills have lodged complaints against the higher authority of the school for harassing them.
Members of student body said that they were repeatedly harassed while they were practicing for the preparation of Parish Day.
“We have been harassed and beaten up by our Vice Principal who was also an Assistant in -charge of the school during practice hours on the grounds that we were not dressed properly. However, we were not informed about what to wear “, said the student who also added that the Vice Principal instead of advising them preferred to beat them up as a punishment.
They also informed that even the Sister who was the Principal in-charge of the school did not take any action in this regard.
The students urged the higher authorities to intervene on the matter for the welfare of the students and the school as a whole.
