Fake HP products sale: Raids to continue

SHILLONG: Following the busting of a fake HP products sale racket in the city and the arrest of three persons in connection with the crime, police on Monday asserted that more rids would continue across the city.Earlier, raids were conducted at three shops in the city that were allegedly selling counterfeit Hewlett Packard (HP) products on the evening of October 9.
A statement issued by the enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights on Monday said the IPR personnel in a joint collaboration with Shillong Crime Branch and local police conducted the raids which led to the seizure of fake HP products.Fake HP products were seized from B.C. Bros, GS Road, Police Bazar,  Wahlang Industries, Shop No. A, 1st Floor, Urban Complex, Police Bazaar and Ideal Computer, Laitumkhrah.
During the raid, police seized six counterfeit HP88A toners from B.C. Bros and arrested Sandeep Bhattacharjee and another five counterfeit HP857 ink and one counterfeit HP858 ink from Wahlang Industries and arrested Rapbor Dohtong. Police also seized 26 counterfeit toners from Ideal Computer and arrested Rosh Philip.
An FIR against the owners of the two shops at Police Bazar was registered at Sadar police station while another FIR was filed at Laitumkhrah police station.
