4 held with stolen ATM

SHILLONG: An alert public led to arrest of four gang members with a stolen ATM having more than Rs 20 lakh inside from Upper Shillong on Tuesday.
Acting on tip off, Sohra police chased two vehicles carrying the gang, who had stolen an ATM machine from the premises of M/S Morland Sootinck Service Station at Sohra.
The ATM was recovered when one of the vehicles was intercepted by police  at 7th mile, Upper Shillong.
The four gang members apprehended in this connection are Hanis Ali (27), Bipul Pal (21), Mukut Ali (26) and Sareswar Kakoti (40). The other vehicle was found at Moodymmai.
The East Khasi Hills district police chief M Kharkrang informed that the same gang involved in lifting of the ATM at Mawlai.
