SHILLONG: Members of FKJGP’s Mawsynram circle on Monday met Deputy Chief Minister R.C. Laloo to apprise him of the problems faced by students of Government Secondary School, Mawsynram.
“The students are facing problems due to lack of trained teachers. Moreover, they will have to sit for the upcoming board exams as private candidates since the school is not recognized as per the Recognition of Secondary & Higher Secondary School Rules, 2012,” FKJGP’s Mawsynram circle president, Banshai Marbaniang said adding that even though interviews for secondary school teachers were conducted no appointments have been made so far. The federation demanded appointment of four teachers for the Secondary section and also called for regularization of the school as per the Meghalaya Schools Education Act, 1981.
