East Garo Hills police nab wanted criminals

RESUBELPARA: East Garo Hills Police on Tuesday morning nabbed one Darmen Marak (32), a cadre of an organization called A’chik Jatna Re’mikkanggipa Kotok (AJRK) along with his accomplice Ali Hussain (37) from the former’s residence in Mendipathar.
Acting on a tip off the police team nabbed the duo who is involved in a number of crimes, the latest being the murder of one Soripod Ali from Krishnai Part I village of Assam at Khosichora near Bajengdoba.
“No arms were seized from their possession,” said Sub Inspector B M Momin from Mendipathar PS.
Marak, who hails from Soksan village in North Garo Hills, has numerous crime records and has been sought after by police for long.
The criminal snatched away the arms of his elder brother who is a Sub Inspector of Police and joined GNLA. Later he formed the AJRK. He has also been actively involved in sending demand notes to many traders in the district.
