Shillong artist makes it big at world music stage

SHILLONG: Shillong artist, R. Excelicia Cunville has made it to the global musical platform, sealing her status as a singer and choir director.
She co-founded and led a choir, the Madrigale International (Mumbai) that comprises of singers from all over India, Thailand, Africa and America and the choir members perform most of her original compositions.
She composed songs for a London teleplay, which was showcased in March 2014 and had also been invited to conduct the Halcyon Chorus for Christmas. She also performed on October 21 and 23, at London,  the programme included songs by Handel, Schubert, Debussy, Fauré, Mozart, Gershwin, Strauss. At the programme she was accompanied by well known pianist and accompanist, Alice Turner.
Cunville was conferred the title of “The Dancing Conductor” by the late actress and musician, Leela Naidu. Throughout her musical journey she brought people from different cultures and backgrounds together and has been appreciated for her musical prowess.
