SHILLONG: The CSWO has alleged that the Village Defence Party (VDP) of Kyntoit Domkohsam in West Khasi Hills District assaulted one Teibor Papang on July 12, 2015 and also attempted to falsely implicate him in some cases by trying to get the police to arrest him.
Quoting the victim, the CSWO claimed that when victim was not arrested by the police, the VDP members, most of whom were his relatives from his wife’s side, went to his house at Domkohsam in the night and assaulted him.
The CSWO further claimed that the victim was not being allowed to reside with his wife and money was being demanded from him.
The CSWO asked police to book the VDP members for abusing their powers and taking the law into their own hands.
