Sirdars elected
KHADC EM in charge of Elaka Administration, L Blah has informed that Stephanson K Laloo was elected as Sirdar of Mawlong, Bilat Swet was elected as Sirdar of Nongkroh and Donborwell Marbaniang as Sirdar of Tyrna. The Sirdar will each serve a term of 5 years.
Wildlife Week
The valedictory function of Wildlife Week Celebration will be held on October 29 at 11 am at U Soso Tham Auditorium. P. Tynsong, Minister in- charge of Forests will be the Chief Guest.
NSS camp
The NSS Unit of Shillong College conducted a six-day special camping programme at Mawkasiang (Umroh) village from October 19 to 24. A free eye check up camp in collaboration with the Bansara Eye Care Centre, a tree plantation drive and construction of a village footpath was conducted during the programme.
