NONGSTOIN/ SHILLONG:  Nongstoin is set for three-cornered contest with Fenela Lyngdoh, a close confidant of Late Hoping Stone Lyngdoh, deciding to jump into the fray as an independent candidate.
Already the HSPDP and Congress have cleared the names of their candidates. They are Dios Jyndiang (HSPDP) and Gabriel Wahlang (Congress).
Fenela  decided to contest November 21 by-poll following a meeting with her supporters at Bidhop Hall, New Nongstoin on Saturday.
Interestingly, the breakaway factions of HSPDP and Congress have joined hands with Dr Lyngdoh.
In the meeting, she attacked HSPDP leader Ardent Basawiamoit for “misleading people during the meeting at Nongpyndeng held on October 29 last.”
She also claimed that UDP was willingly to extend support to her. The meeting decided to request Dr. A.Pariong to extend support to her during the bye-election.
No nomination on day 4 : Meanwhile, for the fourth consecutive day no candidate has filed nomination paper for the Nongstoin by-poll.
The last day for filing of nominations is on Wednesday
