SHILLONG: The State Government will soon put up new signage at the crossroads in the city.
Sources said that the Government has started the process of calling tenders for the same and around Rs 30 lakh will be required to implement the new initiative.
Sources added that under the project, at least 300-400 signage will be put up in different parts of the city.
The State Government contemplated the move after observing that most of the crossroads in the city do not have proper signage, absence of which makes locating an address a herculean task.  In the initial stage, the Government will introduce the signage in areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Shillong municipality while other areas would be covered in subsequent phases.
