UDP blames Govt for Thursday’s violence

SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) on Thursday blamed the State government for the violent incidents which took place in the city following the meeting of the traditional heads with the Chief Minister and the State government.
“The government should not make any further delay in passing the VAB,” UDP leader Jemino Mawthoh said.
He further said that the government was dealing with the situation in a very insensitive manner and further delay would only lead to more confusion.
The rally called by the (SNSBH) on Thursday turned violent when a section of the crowd started pelting stones on police personnel
